Chelsea Football Club Transfer News

Marcos Alonso has agreed to sign a three-year contract at Barcelona after director Mateu Alemany met with his agent today. There is optimism the transfer will accelerate once Chelsea confirm the signing of Marc Cucurella.

The signing of Cucurella for Chelsea can speed up the entire negotiation because Marcos Alonso already has the OK from the management of Chelsea to leave.

Brighton did not make it easy for Chelsea to sign Marc Cucurella, making it clear that a deal is dependent on them bolstering their defence.

Chelsea have been reluctant to sell Levi Colwill and initially told Brighton they were only willing to loan the defender. This did not appeal to Brighton and there are ongoing negotiations now over a permanent deal.
