After more than a year away, fans are close to being allowed to return in Spain, but there is no firm decision as of yet.
La Liga have been working on allowing fans to be allowed in for the last two matchdays in La Liga and the back end of the Segunda campaign, but it is all subject to Government approval. They are close to making a decision.
According to ‘Marca’, they have asked for 24-48 hours to make a decision after a meeting of over an hour this Tuesday in the Culture Ministry.
Jose Manuel Uribes (minister for Culture and Sport), Jose Manuel Franco (secretary of state for Sport) and Javier Tebas (LaLiga president) attended the meeting.
Despite the Government asking for up to 48 hours, all parties expect a definitive decision to be made on Wednesday. If the green light is given, professional football matches in Spain will welcome back fans for the first time since lockdown.
