Neymar’s lifestyle questioned

Neymar will miss the first leg of the Champions League last 16 tie with Barcelona through injury. ‘L’Equipe‘ analysed what is happening to the Brazilian and hinted that his lifestyle could be affecting the PSG striker.

The Champions League is just around the corner. The last 16 matches begin next week.

For the first leg against Barcelona, PSG know they will not be able to play Neymar because of an adductor injury. It will be a setback for the French league. “We’re losing a leader,” Ander Herrera said.

‘L’Equipe’ believe that they have found the cause of all of Neymar’s problems. The French paper believes that his lifestyle is not right.

“Serious, diligent and rigurous in training sessions, Neymar believes, maybe too frequently, that his work stops once he leaves the Parc des Princes or the Camp des Loges (PSG’s training ground) after games or training,” ‘L’Equipe’ writes.

Lately, Neymar had been in the news after turning 29. Gastroenteritis meant he could not play the 90 minutes against Marseille. ‘L’Equipe’ also mentioned his celebrations: “Others like Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo don’t celebrate their birthday with so much fanfare.”

In ‘Le Parisien’, physiology expert Jean-Bernard Fabre also talked about the Brazilian’s lifestyle off the pitch. “As years go by, he pays for his poor preparation and recovery. Your lifestyle catches up with you. It can only get worse,” he said.
