Fire guts INEC office in Abuja

The Office of the Director, Elections and Party Monitoring Department (EPM) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was on Friday gutted by unexplained fire.

The INEC’s Director of publicity and voter education, Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, told Daily Trust, that the office where the fire outbreak occurred was close to the Media Centre of the commission and that it has been contained by the fire service department of the commission.

He, however said that apart from photocopy machines and other office equipment, no sensitive or confidential materials and documents were affected in the fire incident.

First it was the Treasury House, then it was the Corporate affairs commission and now the INEC office has gutted fire. These three buildings accommodate Principal federal government parastatals, all located in the FCT with the fire incidences happening so close to each other within a span of two weeks during a Lock down. Coincidence??? We can only hope that is the case. In the Meantime, Stay home and Stay Safe out there.
